Ready to Work Program

The Ready-to-Work Program is a national skills development program designed to assist people with transitions in the workforce. The program offers a mix of classroom and on-the-job training that provides participants with the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and experience required for long-term, stable employment in tourism – the world’s fastest growing industry.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will earn two national and nine provincial certificates. During the five week program, workshops will include:

  • Serve Right Responsible Beverage Service
  • Stress Management
  • Time Management

  • Tourism WHMIS
  • Food Handlers
  • Professionalism
  • Basic Communication Skills
  • Job Readiness

The Nova Scotia Tourism Human Resource Council works toward building the most professional workforce possible by providing resources to help individuals obtain training and workplace experience and provide national recognition for the skills, knowledge and experience individuals acquire.
