Tourism Professionals Celebrated

On June 4th, in Halifax, the Nova Scotia Tourism Industry celebrated employee excellence at the 24th Annual Recognition of Excellence. The event recognizes the significant achievement of tourism professionals who have earned the emerit National Certification Designation, which is the pinnacle credential available to tourism professionals in Canada, during the past year.

“Investing in the people who work in our Industry will serve the province well as we strive to recruit, retain and increase the productivity of Nova Scotia’s workforce.” said Wes Surrett, Chair of the Nova Scotia Tourism Human Resource Council (NSTHRC). “Tourism relies on a skilled workforce to deliver quality experiences for visitors and Nova Scotia continues to maintain one of the highest number of certified tourism professionals per capita across Canada,” said Surrett.  A number of Nova Scotia businesses were also presented with Awards, in recognition of their significant investment in their staff.
